• Sitting in the Bathroom

  Sitting in the bathroom
  It's a daily routine
  Cleansing the pores,
  The bladder,
  The stomach,
  The eyes,
  The mind.

  Sitting in the bathroom
  Hearing the siblings scream
  For Mommy,
  For Daddy,
  For toys,
  For attention,
  For absolutely no reason.

  Sitting in the bathroom
  Looking in the mirror
  Trying to find
  A pimple,
  A scar,
  A wrinkle,
  A reason for living.

  Sitting in the bathroom
  Bare feet on the porcelain
  I feel like
  My feet are cold,
  This floor is hard,
  My muscles move,
  I feel nothing. Numb.

  Standing in the bathroom
  Getting ready go
  Moving,
  Closing the door,
  Leaving.
